I arrived at the trucking school Driver Solutions uses in Ft. Wayne, IN on 6/20/2011.  I started by taking the DOT physical and completing all the paperwork.

Throughout the first week, you go through alot of material and information but if you pay attention and ask questions it will do everything to help you out on the road. I passed all my CDL tests on the first round which is a huge relief off of your shoulders. There were several people who needed help and we all helped each other get past any obstacle in the classroom.

The second week, we went to the range to learn the straight line back, the offset, and the parallel park.  My first thought was there was no way to park a semi in a parallel spot, but Andre (CDL instructor) walks everyone through it.  At the end of the second week, I passed my range with only 2 points (You have to do it twice to pass the range with less than 6 points). I also passed my road on my second week with the help of a great instructor named Rick.

The road can be a little nerving and you get a whole new respect for the truck being behind the wheel of a rig. We were off for 3 days over the 4th of July weekend but I was still able to pass my pre-trip inspection on Wednesday of my third week. I went over the fence on Thursday and passed everything which felt great.

I made several friends there and hope to see all of them on the road soon. I cannot say enough about John(the director) or the school.  They are there to help you anyway they can. I had heard several things about the experience good and bad and all I have to say 90% cause the problems themselves and the other 10% dont apply themselves which causes the negativity.

I would give the school a 9/10 for a positive experience, the range needs repaved and you would move on up.  I am willing to answer questions about my experience and will encourage more people to go in fact I already told 3 people about it and they are looking into it.
