The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has created a commercial about patriotism and compassion in the trucking industry. These are very important qualities that most truckers possess, but they are often overshadowed by other industry news. This commercial is one that can really have a positive impact on the trucking industry and the TCA is looking for help to make sure the message gets out. The plan is to debut the commercial during ESPN's December 18 broadcast of the uDrove Humanitarian Bowl, at which the Highway Angel of the Year will be honored. The video highlights the Wreaths Across America
efforts from many TCA members. Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization that oversees a week long campaign to honor fallen veterans each year. The participants volunteer to escort wreaths from Maine to more than 500 veteran cemeteries, including Arlington National Cemetery. During the journey to deliver the wreaths, they make stops at schools and veteran rallies to "remember the fallen, honor those who serve in the military, and teach children the value of their service." Mark Kinsel, president of Driver Solutions said, “too many times the trucking industry is cast in a negative light. From crashes on the highways to negative stereotypes of professional truck drivers. But the trucking industry doesn’t always get the credit it deserves for the good things the industry does. I’m glad to announce that Driver Solutions has made a $500 donation to help build awareness for programs like TCA’s support for Wreaths Across America.”
