Part 3 - Interview With John Henries - USA Truck Driver

Sunday, April 24, 2011 by
During our interview with USA Truck driver, John Henries, we asked him to provide some truck driving tips.  Find out what he had to say below...

Q: What are your 3 tips for someone just wrapping up training and getting ready to enter industry?

A:
  1. When you go for orientation, stay out of the driver’s lounge.  It may sound stupid and corny, but there is a lot of negative talk going on in there.  The people that are putting it down are the type that aren’t performing and refusing loads or not delivering on time.  They are putting a negative impact on the industry.  Don’t do it if you are new, it’s not fair.  The drivers shouldn’t be doing it.  I don’t hang out at lounge.

  2. Listen to everything your trainer says.  If you can add something to it, do that as well.

  3. Come in with an open mind ready to learn more.
