We brought you some great news this week about USA Truck announcing a scholarship program for its employees.  We felt this story deserved some additional coverage and did not want it to go overlooked, so here is a brief recap:

In a move that will benefit the employees of USA Trucking, its CEO and President Cliff Beckham announced the launch of a scholarship program for children of truck drivers who wish to continue a post-secondary education. Beckham stresses the importance of how important the employees' contributions are to the company and its stockholders and this is only one way of showing their appreciation.

"At USA Truck we recognize that our driver employees and those who assist them in providing safe and efficient service to our customers are essential to our success," said Beckham. This is included in the company's promise on enhancing the overall experience of internal and external customers.

The company's new endeavor will be administered by a division of Scholarship America, the Scholarship Management Services. All applications are encouraged to be in by March 1, 2011. Awarding of scholarships will happen in April, just in time for the start of the academic year.
