Endorsements are additional tests a driver must pass in order to operate special types of commercial vehicles. Some endorsements require passing only a written test, while others endorsements require both a written and skills test to pass. A few examples are hazmat, doubles, triples and tanker endorsements.
What if I already have a Class A permit? Will I be able to use it for training?
It depends. Unfortunately, permits are non-transferable from state to state. If you hold a permit issued by the state in which you will attend school, you would not be required to retake the written exams. However, if your permit is from a state other than the state you will be training in, you will be required to take and obtain the permit in the state you will be training in.
I have previous truck driving experience, but it's been a while. Do you offer a refresher course?
The Driver Solutions Network primarily recruits inexperienced truck drivers and does not offer a refresher course with the company sponsored training program. If you have experience or have attended a truck driver training school in the past 2 years, you should contact the trucking companies directly to find out about their current truck driving job opportunities.
